Ernst Heinrich Weber was born into an academic background in Wittenberg, the son of Michael Weber, a professor of theology at the University of Wittenberg. Later in life, he worked with his brother Eduard on nerve stimulation and muscle suppression, leading to inhibitory responses as a popular therapy.
